CJC-1295

Also known as: DAC:GRF, modified GRF(1-29), note: 'CJC-1295 no-DAC' is often mod-GRF 1-29

Wellness

In plain English

CJC-1295 is a longer-lasting, lab-made version of the natural growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is designed to raise growth hormone and IGF-1 levels for days at a time, and it is often paired with a "secretagogue" like ipamorelin. It is used in wellness/anti-aging programs by injection. It is not an FDA-approved drug, and human data are limited to a small early-phase safety and pharmacology study.

The science

CJC-1295 (with drug affinity complex, DAC) is a GHRH analog engineered from GHRH(1-29) with amino-acid substitutions that resist enzymatic breakdown and a linker that binds serum albumin, greatly extending half-life. In a small randomized, placebo-controlled ascending-dose study in healthy adults (Teichman et al., 2006), single subcutaneous doses raised GH 2- to 10-fold for several days and IGF-1 for up to ~1-2 weeks, with an estimated half-life of 5.8-8.1 days and no serious adverse events. The albumin-binding mechanism was characterized preclinically (Jetté et al., 2005). Human clinical evidence is limited to early pharmacology; long-term efficacy and safety (including theoretical concerns of sustained IGF-1 elevation) are not established, and it is not FDA-approved.
